Client: Mid-career sales professional in medical device sales interested in making a parallel move to another company in the same market.
My Position: Principal, Wordschmidt Consulting
This client reported strong satisfaction with his livelihood and even his industry, but he was ready to move on from his company, which he believed was undergoing changes that were affecting his ability to serve his customers at the level he and they expected. He was feeling somewhat disillusioned by the commoditization of his work by the corporate parent and wanted to be in a place where his skills and output would be appreciated and supported.
Approach
I employed a typical discovery process with this client. He completed a mini DiSC assessment designed specifically for resumes and cover letters, a short intake questionnaire, and a lengthy discovery interview. This process follows an initial 30-minute complimentary consultation during which I listen to the client’s needs, answer initial questions, and determine whether we will be a good working fit.
